Notes
Terrestrial fern with short-creeping rhizome covered with dark brown scales . Widespread along banks of creeks and in moist gullies in open forest, often amongst rocks. Versatile fern; can be grown in semi-shade and is moderately drought resistant. Grows into a small, upright clump to about 45cm. Young fronds are often pink, while mature fronds are green or green-bronze, branched with roughly-textured fan-shaped leaf segments. Rootlets lack bulbils. Propagate by division or from spores. Performs best in soils containing good levels of organic matter and moisture, but can withstand dry periods. An excellent container plant but can easily be overwatered. Used by insects such as sawfly larvae, weevils and wasp larvae.
