A medium tree to 25m tall in dry rainforest in Upper Richmond River, NSW to Bundaberg, QLD. Flowers are white in terminal clusters from September-October. Fruit is a brown, woody, oblong capsule splitting into five segment containing numerous winged seeds. Ripe February-March. Can br used in the garden; it has a very attractive smooth and figured bark and a dense, dark green crown. A very hardy plant. Propagate from fresh seed (which can be stored for up to a year). It is a slow growing plant. Clear gum exuded from the stem and branches was eaten by the Aborigines.
